Study Abroad in Salamanca: Housing and Meals

Choose to live in a Spanish home carefully selected by the Resident Director or in a double room in a University residence.

Homestay

Many students say that the homestay experience is the most rewarding part of their time abroad. Patience, respect and an open mind are essential to its success. It is the best way to learn to speak Spanish, get involved in the culture and integrate into the local community. Our local staff chooses families with great care. Students are treated as a member of the family, eating three meals a day, seven days a week with them. Most rooms are based on double occupancy. If you want a single room and one is available, you will pay a supplement of 75 euros per month directly to the host.

Student residence

The University residence is 5 minutes from the University and the Plaza Mayor. All of the rooms are double with private baths and telephones. You will take three meals a day, seven days a week, at the residence cafeteria. The residence has two TV rooms (with video and DVD), a reading room (providing daily local newspapers), a chapel, an auditorium, a study room and a modest gym. For an extra fee Internet and/or laundry services can be contracted.

A limited number of single rooms may be available for a supplementary fee. For more information, please contact the Admissions Officer.

Please note that once the program begins, students are not permitted to change their housing choice from homestay to residence or vice versa.
