Study Abroad in Salamanca: Beyond the Classroom

Learning does not begin or end in the classroom. To help you get a true taste of Spanish culture, a wide range of cultural activities and excursions are included in your program fee.

AIFS organizes many enriching activities to help you integrate, understand and participate in the Spanish culture. Activities usually include:

  • Welcome Fiesta
  • Spanish cooking classes
  • Professionally guided tour of Salamanca – to help you get to know more about where you’ll be living
  • “Tapas” tour
  • Boating on the river
  • Horseback riding
  • Open air jazz concerts
  • Swimming pool day
  • Visit to the Jeronimus Cathedral tower
  • Theater in a cave
  • Visit to El Rastro (flea market)
  • Photo contests
  • Visit to the Casa Lis Art Nouveau and Art Deco Museum
  • Guided tour of the Museum of Contemporary Art, located in the old prison
  • Visit to the bullfighting ring in Salamanca
  • Farewell dinner

Please note that students may be asked to pay a small additional fee for some of the activities above.
