Hello! When I first came here, I only knew two words in Russian, and now St. Petersburg is my home!

I am a former ballet dancer and Tour Manager for Russian ballet companies, where I acted as a Russian/English interpreter. I have worked with the Marinsky (Kirov) Ballet Company in St Petersburg, the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow and the Royal Opera House in London. I studied Russian at the University of Westminster in London and completed an Advanced Russian course at St. Petersburg State Technical University in 2007. I have also traveled to many countries in the world including most European countries, Malaysia, Korea, Canary Islands and the Middle East.

Studying abroad will be one of the most fantastic experiences of your life. Getting out and exploring the world will give you knowledge and experiences that will change your outlook on life! I look forward to welcoming you here in St. Petersburg.

Kathryn and her assistant work as a team providing academic advice to the students, introducing them into the community and handling communication with the University.

Special features of the AIFS program:

The AIFS program includes a three-day visit to London, three-day visit to Moscow, and a four-day visit to Helsinki, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia. Many other excursions are provided in and around St Petersburg, including the famous palaces and the town of Novgorod. Students live in a comfortable residence hall next to the classroom building. Russian is taught to a very high standard by teachers specialised in teaching Russian to foreigners. Students can choose courses in English, in addition to the required Russian language course.
