Study Abroad in Wellington: Cultural Excursions

Rotorua (3 days)

Included in program fee

Depart for Rotorua, stopping at Huka Falls for plenty of photo opportunities. Enjoy dinner in Rotorua.

The next morning, visit the Rotorua Agrodome for the Sheep Show and Farm Show. Then head to Rotorua Museum and the Polynesian Spa.

Finally, see the Lady Knox Geyser show and the Wai-o-tapu part before returning to Wellington.

Accommodation and entrances are included. Breakfast will be provided on Saturday and Sunday morning. Dinner will be provided on Friday and Saturday evening. Students will need to pay for their own lunch on Friday and Saturday. Lunch on Sunday is provided.

Sydney (3 days)

Included in program fee

Before returning to the U.S., enjoy a stopover in Sydney, Australia. Take a sightseeing tour with a local guide who will point out some of Sydney’s most famous landmarks including the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Taronga Zoo.

Free time to explore Sydney’s energetic city life and enjoy some last minute shopping. Alternatively, simply relax before your flight home!

Includes accommodation, breakfast, sightseeing tour and local guide. Lunch and dinner are not included. Flights and transfers to and from the airport included for students on the AIFS Flight Package only.

Wairarapa (day trip)

Included in program fee

Students depart by train from Wellington and visit a vineyard in the Wairarapa region before moving on to visit Pukaha Mount Bruce taking in a tour with eel and kaka feeding. After lunch, students go to the Shear Discovery Center in Masterton. Return to Wellington by train.

Transportation and entrance fees are included.
