Study Abroad in Prague: Academics

Faculty of Arts and Philosophy: East and Central European Studies Program (ECES)

The ECES program at Charles University offers courses in English designed for international university students. Courses are taught by University faculty. Students have access to libraries, cafeterias and other facilities and activities of the University. The classrooms, offices, libraries and cafeterias are located in the historical center of Prague.

AIFS Office

The AIFS Office is situated in one of the oldest parts of Prague right in the heart of the city. Students have the opportunity to explore the stunning architectural gems of the picturesque Old Town and New Town. School buildings are conveniently located within walking distance of the office.

AIFS provides a student center and a computer lab in the office, offering more than ten work stations for college work or leisure. Free printing is also available, making it ideal for students to print their projects and essays on their way to class. Staff is always there to help with any issues that might arise.

Attendance

Attendance is required to receive full credit. Students exceeding the permitted number of unexcused absences may lose all or partial credit.

Grades

No AIFS participant is permitted to take a course without receiving a letter grade. Pass/Fail grade options are not available.

Libraries

Students have access to the libraries at Charles University, plus large and specialist libraries including the State Library and the Library of the Institute of International Relations.

Transcripts are issued by Charles University.
