Visas - Very Important!

Students must apply for a visa with the Austrian consulate as soon as they are accepted on the AIFS program. Upon acceptance, AIFS will provide instructions and the necessary official documents about the academic program and the semester in Salzburg; however, students must contact the Austrian consulate directly for the appropriate visa forms.

Volunteering

One of the best ways to immerse yourself in another culture is to work in the community. Students who meet relevant criteria can volunteer at a local kindergarten and English conversation exchange. You must demonstrate maturity and a working knowledge of German. Placements are made after arrival.

Transportation

You will receive a 50% refund of a monthly transportation pass for bus and train for 3 months during the semester.
